Drop In · No Group Needed

Open Play Drop in. Get matched. Just play.

Show up during a scheduled session. We pair you with rotating partners on the courts — no reservation, no group needed.

How It Works

From walk-in to first rally in 10 minutes.

1

Show up during a session

Open Play runs at scheduled times throughout the day, every day. Check the live schedule before you come — sessions aren't all-day.

2

Check in at the front desk

Tell us your skill level (just guess — there's no test). We'll route you to the right court. Members go first; non-members welcome based on capacity.

3

Rotate partners and play

Most sessions rotate every game or two so you meet new people. Play as many games as you can fit in the session window.

Who Plays

Everyone, every level.

Open Play is the most diverse session at ERA. On any given day you'll find:

  • ·Beginners (1.0 – 2.5) — many sessions specifically for newcomers, no experience needed
  • ·Intermediate (3.0 – 3.5) — the bulk of the room, where most regulars play
  • ·Advanced (4.0+) — dedicated higher-level sessions and rotations
  • ·Solo drop-ins — no partner required, that's the whole point
What to Bring

Almost nothing.

  • Sneakers · court shoes ideal, any closed-toe athletic shoe works
  • Comfortable clothes · we're climate-controlled
  • Water bottle · refill stations on-site
  • $Paddle · members borrow free at the front desk · non-members pay a small rental fee

Open Play FAQ

Quick answers.

Do I need a partner? +

No. The whole point of Open Play is solo drop-ins — we pair you with rotating partners on the courts. Most regulars come alone.

How long are sessions? +

Most Open Play sessions run 2–3 hours. You can come for the whole session or jump in for an hour.

What if I'm a beginner? +

We have specific beginner-friendly Open Play sessions where everyone is new. You won't get smoked by 4.5-rated regulars. Tell the front desk you're new and they'll point you to the right session. See our Beginners Guide for more.

Can I just walk in any time? +

Only during scheduled Open Play sessions — they're not all day. Outside those times you'll need a court reservation. Check the live schedule or call ahead.

What's the difference between Open Play and Organized Play? +

Open Play is casual drop-in — you might wait between games when courts are full. Organized Play guarantees you nonstop competitive games for a fixed time block, but it's slightly more structured and skill-bracketed.

See you on a court.
